Court Hearing #26 on 2 June 2006 - 02 Jun 2006
by Eric
Dr Sandra Rotty
As both defendant one and two I accept this witnesses testimony in it’s entirety:
It is obvious to me that this witness is a Medical Dr. that has vast experience and understands public health issues of the community surrounding the mine and she has not observed any “unusual health conditions”, including “itchiness” as alleged in the indictments that are related to PT NMR’s operations. In fact, it was not until after and with the assistance of PT NMR, was a Puskesmas established that gave the local communities access to improved health care.
Dr Joy Rattu
As both defendant one and two I accept this witnesses testimony in it’s entirety:
This witness confirmed what other reports and studies have also concluded, that the health conditions in Buyat and the area surrounding the mine are normal and test results from several studies conducted by the Department of Health and UNSRAT which this witness was involved with conclude along with other studies including that of the World Health Organization that there are no indications of medical conditions related to Arsenic and Mercury exposure.
The witness further explained that inorganic arsenic is the type of arsenic that is of health concern to humans, not the organic compounds found in fish.
Dr Windsy Warouw
As both defendant one and two I accept this witnesses testimony in it’s entirety:
It is clear from this witnesses testimony that the types of skin diseases and “
itchiness’” are of the common type and similar to other costal communities and therefore are not caused by Mercury or Arsenic and not related to PT NMR’s mining activities.
It is also obvious that a group of medical doctors along with others who portrayed themselves as medical experts deliberately and intentionally campaigned to misinform the public by creating “a mysterious disease” which were not mysterious at all, but common skin conditions found in communities all over the world.
And sadly, these medical doctors violated medical ethics misinforming the world, creating concern, mistrust and panic when in fact conditions were normal and reasonable.
Specifically, in the case of baby Andini, under the advise of a select group of people, the child did not receive proper medical attention as recommended by professional medical Dr.s because others wanted to use the baby as a “poster child”. This most probably contributed to the babies suffering and her untimely death.
